When a tragic accident happens, the person who becomes paralysed can often feel they are alone in their struggle. And if you care for someone who is spinally injured, you will know all too well how difficult day to day life can be. We wanted to provide a space for people to interact, share and support each other online.
On 16th May 2008 (Spinal Injuries Awareness Day) Spinal Research and Cubeworks launched MySpine.org, a new social networking site for anyone who has been affected by spinal cord injury.
The aim of MySpine.org is to bring together people who live with spinal cord injury so they can share their story, discuss issues in the forums, and feel less isolated in their daily fight against paralysis.
The site includes key stories from MySpine faces such as George Eyles, Richard Dunwoody & Bear Grylls, alongside users own stories and comments.
